The fastest source of a good session is the last one. Local Intel is the other half: an angler's knowledge about an area or a fishery, with the timing, the gear, the technique, getting in, and what a local angler knows.

Open the public map, draw a search ring around water you know, and see where anglers are active. Filter the marketplace by area, water, species, price or access type, and search entries, Local Intel and anglers all at once.
Read the water before you fish it. Charts show drop-offs, reefs, channels, and current edges, and fish hold where structure meets food, so mark those and fish them on the right tide. Learn your tides and conditions: plenty of species switch on around the tide change, and wind and swell decide whether a location is even fishable. Watch for working birds, because birds over bait means predators under bait. And ask at the local tackle shop: they know what’s producing this week and they’ll point you at water worth fishing.
Then put in the hours and log everything. Most anglers forget what actually worked: the tide, the wind, the time of day. The Fishing Codex app is a free logbook built for exactly this.
