Fishing Codex legal
Refund Policy
Fishing Codex · Effective 26 May 2026 · Last updated 26 June 2026
Short version: Fishing Codex does not offer discretionary refunds for web marketplace digital access. Refunds are provided only where required by applicable law.
1. Web marketplace refund rule
- Digital access is delivered immediately. One-off entries, angler subscriptions, and lifetime access are account-based digital products. Once Stripe confirms the order, the entitlement is attached to your Fishing Codex account and syncs to the app.
- No change-of-mind refunds. We do not refund because you changed your mind, did not catch fish, disliked the weather, could not travel, found access conditions different, bought the wrong listing, forgot to cancel, or no longer want the access.
- No outcome guarantee. A listing is angler knowledge, not a promise of fish, safe access, legal access, weather, tide, or any catch result.
- Legal rights still apply. If applicable law gives you a non-excludable refund, repair, replacement, cancellation, chargeback, or consumer-guarantee right, we will honour that right.
Plain-language note: consumer law in some countries gives buyers refund rights that no policy can remove. Where those laws apply — including laws in the EU, UK, and Australia — they apply regardless of what this policy says.
2. How this applies by access type
| Access type | Refund treatment |
|---|---|
| Free claim | No payment is made. Free claims use lifetime claim slots (per account and device) and grant 5-day access unless an active App Pro subscription applies; used slots are not returned. |
| One-off paid entry | Final sale unless a non-excludable legal right requires otherwise. |
| Angler subscription | Cancel future renewals from your account. The current paid period is not refunded unless required by law. |
| Angler lifetime access | Final sale unless a non-excludable legal right requires otherwise. |
| App Pro | Processed by Apple or Google. Request store refunds through Apple Report a Problem or Google Play refund support unless local law requires another process. |
3. Stripe disputes and reversals
Web marketplace payments are processed by Stripe as direct charges on the angler's connected Stripe Standard account. If a card network, Stripe, court, regulator, or applicable law requires a reversal, refund, or chargeback, the related access can be revoked. The angler's Stripe account or marketplace ledger may show a clawback, negative balance, dispute fee, or reserve according to Stripe rules.
A duplicate charge or payment-processing error should be reported immediately. We will investigate through Stripe and correct it where Stripe, the card network, or applicable law requires correction.
4. Apple and Google App Pro refunds
App Pro is a mobile in-app purchase and is not charged through the web marketplace. Apple and Google decide store-refund eligibility under their store rules and the consumer laws that apply where you live. If Apple or Google approves an App Pro refund or cancellation, the App Pro entitlement may stop syncing to your Fishing Codex account.
Use reportaproblem.apple.com for Apple purchases. For Google Play purchases, use Google Play refund support or the purchase history attached to the Google Account that paid for App Pro.
5. How to raise a legal refund claim
Email [email protected] with the subject “Refund request”. Include your Fishing Codex account email, Stripe receipt or order reference, listing or angler name, date of purchase, and the legal basis for the claim.
We aim to respond within 10 business days. If your request depends on a store, card-network, Stripe, or angler account record, we may need additional information before deciding.
