Crews

There is nothing to start, unlock or apply for. Sign up and your crew exists. Rename it whenever you like, give it a photo or pick an emblem, share its link, and people join.

The official Fishing Codex crew is listed here like any other crew, open for anyone to find and join, and it runs a monthly Species Slam every angler can enter. You can be in as many crews as you want, leave any of them except your own, and the door swings both ways.

Catches land in the crew feed as they are logged, always your own choice, catch by catch. Somebody posts a picture of a fish nobody can name and three people answer. Rigs get shared. A poll picks the best catch of the week. Someone flags "on the water now" and the crew cheers them on.

Feed and Chat are two separate tabs, so the box you type in is always reachable.

A crew has a public size and a separate level. Size is how many of you there are. Level is a count of things the crew has actually done: named milestones, each earned once and never lost.

Milestones come from fishing: a catch landed in the app with a photo, the weekly crew quest finished, a species new to the crew's board, a day on the water, a member's first fish ever.

Size never feeds level: a small, active crew can outrank a huge quiet one.

Every week the crew gets a goal, generated and scaled to its size and recent activity. A crew of one gets one it can win. A contribution board answers the honest question afterwards: how did we do this together? Verified catches weigh most, and helping the crew counts too.

String weeks together and the crew builds a streak.

Passing milestones opens a shelf: event powers and capacity, cosmetics, an emblem that visually evolves as the crew levels, a trophy shelf, a pinned announcement, choosing next week's quest by poll, a custom crew handle, crew colours on members' share cards, early access to new event formats, and crew milestone badges awarded to every member at that moment.

The next unlock's progress bar is visible to everyone in the crew. It is everybody's project.

The Crew Code is your rules panel: who can post, whether member catches may be shared into the feed at all, who can start polls, who can create events, whether joining is open or by invite, chat on or off, and whether the crew stays out of the public directory. A crew shows up once you have named it, given it a picture, or a second angler joins, and you can hide it again any time.

Name a co-host and they can approve joins, remove members, moderate posts, create events and hand out crew badges. Changing the Crew Code, banning and naming co-hosts stay yours.

Every crew has report, block and mute for every member, and delete, kick, ban and approve-joins for the owner.
