About Fishing Codex

Built by a fisherman, for fishermen — a private logbook and a marketplace where the exact location stays private.

The story behind it

I'm Misha, 21, an industrial product design student in New Zealand and a keen fisherman. Fishing Codex is the product I personally dreamed of having — a private offline logbook plus a marketplace where anglers can buy and sell proven spots without the exact locations ever going public. I'm not a developer: I learned to build it out of necessity, doing the product thinking while AI coding tools did the implementation — most of it between university exams.

What Fishing Codex is

Fishing Codex is a private fishing logbook app for iOS and Android, plus a web marketplace at fishingcodex.com where anglers buy and sell proven fishing spots. The app is a free offline fishing tool — the private logbook, offline maps, worldwide tides, forecasts and catch statistics are all free. Spots bought or claimed on the website sync into the app automatically.

The exact location is never public: the public map shows only a fuzzed ~10 km zone; exact pins unlock privately for the person who bought or claimed the spot. There's enough fish in the ocean to share — and keeping the location private is what makes sharing possible.

The private logbook, offline maps and tides are free on iOS and Android — no account needed to start.
