Species Slam
A free online fishing challenge from the official Fishing Codex crew. Each Slam runs for thirty days, any angler anywhere can join, and a new one opens the moment the last one ends.
How it works
Land as many different species as you can while the Slam is open. Once three different species of yours are accepted, you have completed it and earn that month's dated badge. Each Slam's own page states its goal.
It is a challenge, not a competition: everyone who reaches the goal earns the badge. While a Slam runs, its page shows every catch entered and a running order by how many different species each angler has entered.
Entry is free, there is no cap on how many anglers take part, and you fish your own water, wherever in the world that is.
How to enter
Get the Fishing Codex app and sign in.
In the app, open Discover, then Events, and join this month's Species Slam.
Enter each catch from the Slam: a photo taken with the app's camera, or one from your phone's library.
Each Slam's page says how its catches are checked. Entering a catch puts its photo on that page.
This month's Slam and past results
When a Slam ends, its page becomes a permanent public results page at the same address.
Run a Slam of your own
Any signed-in angler can run a Species Slam for their crew, their mates or anyone, and choose how many species completes it. Events are created on the website.
