Local Intel

How this angler fishes an area: timing, gear, technique, access, and local knowledge. Read the free sample before you buy.

Local Intel is an angler’s knowledge about an area or a fishery: the timing, the gear, the technique, how to get in, and what an angler local to that water knows.

How this worksWhat you get.

Local Intel is sold on its own — no logbook subscription or whole-logbook lifetime access includes it. Bought once, it is your own copy in Claimed, readable on the web forever; sold as a subscription, it stays in Claimed while your intel subscription is active.

Early Season Snapper in Western Port, Victoria

Local Intel · Western Port, Victoria

SnapperBait fishing, Bottom fishing

Early-season snapper fishing in Western Port is about learning the water before the season fully fires. This free guide covers the basics of timing, ground, current, bait, rigs, sounder use, weather, bycatch and what to look for before you anchor. It is designed to give anglers a practical starting point without overcomplicating things, while the detailed paid Local Intel will go much deeper into positioning, bait presentation, sounder interpretation and how I actually fish Western Port for snapper.h

Sorrento Pier Fishing — Unforgiven Fishing Intel

Local Intel · Sorrento Pier, Southern Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Sorrento Victoria

Southern calamari, King George whiting, gummy shark, Australian salmon, Tommy rough, cuttlefishBaits, squid jigs float fishing

Sorrento Pier is far more than a squid spot. Weed beds, sand patches, shallow ground, pier structure and deeper channel water create several different fishing zones within casting distance. This Local Intel combines my own years of fishing Sorrento with local reports and ongoing testing, covering calamari, cuttlefish, King George whiting, gummies, salmon, Tommy rough and more — including tides, gear, techniques, access, productive ground and the lessons I’ve learned from actually fishing the pier.
