An entry is the record of one real catch.

The photo, the species, the length, the method, the date, the place, and the conditions that were true at that moment: the moon, the wind, swell, rain and pressure, and the tide where the water is tidal. Fishing Codex fills those in for you, instantly, wherever on earth you are.

A photo only tells you a fish was caught. Log the tide, the moon, the weather and the time with it and you know when to go back, and so does anyone you share it with.

You get your own crew from day one, and the official Fishing Codex crew is there to join whenever you want it. Nobody fishes alone in here.

A crew is where your catches land, where someone names the fish you can't, where the rig talk happens, and where there are events to compete in with your mates.

Competitions, challenges, meet-ups and guided trips. Where a rule can be scored, the event keeps a running order live; where it is judged, the catches are shown and the organizer names the winner. Catch photos come in as they are logged, and every event leaves a results page that lasts forever.

The official Fishing Codex crew always has one running: a rolling monthly Species Slam, free, public, worldwide, thirty days, open to every angler.

How events work→

Some anglers publish part of their logbook. An entry they publish comes with everything that made it: the conditions it was caught in, the method, the photo, and its exact location, shown on your private map in the app once you claim or unlock it.

Others write Local Intel, what they know about an area or a fishery: the timing, the gear, the technique, how to get in, and what an angler local to that water knows.

Search by area, water or species, follow the anglers whose logbooks are worth reading, and claim free entries every day.

None of the above works unless the catch was written down properly in the first place. That is what the free app is for.

Every catch you log becomes a pin on your private map, alongside the entries you have claimed or unlocked from other anglers. Nobody else sees it.

Underneath it the app builds your history: statistics per species, your best moon phases and seasons, your longest fights, your landing rate, the Species Codex counting every species you have caught, and your recorded tracks backed up to your own account so they survive a new phone.

Aim the reticle anywhere on your map and Fishing Codex reads the day: temperature, wind, swell, rain, pressure, and the tide where the water is tidal, as plain progress rather than jargon ("falling · about halfway down").

Best fishing times scores around thirty days of fishing windows from sun, moon and weather, tuned to the conditions you personally care about, and tells you what it scored on. The first three days are free for everyone.

You already write it down. Publishing is the step where what you wrote down helps somebody else.

Your advice could help someone catch their very first fish and turn their first trip into a day they will never forget. You choose entry by entry what goes out and what stays yours. Fishing Codex takes the standard 15% fee, plus Stripe and card processing fees (anglers typically net around 80%). The money goes straight into your own Stripe account.

Publishing an entry protects roughly 500 m around it: twelve months for a paid entry, ninety days for a free one.
